Revenge:

Homer, the great author, once said, "It [revenge] is sweeter far than flowing honey." What do you think this means? The Most Dangerous Game shows how the protagonist takes revenge on General Zaroff. In your opinion is this necessary? Does this show that Rainsford is the same as the antagonist? Are his actions justified?

  1. I think that Rainsford wanted to kill the General Zaroff and get SWEAT revenge.

    1. Sweet revenge...But, does this make it right? What would you do in a similar situation?

    2. If some would of did it to me I would of torchered them and make them suffer.

  2. I think it was wrong because the general didn't really do anything to him but he was about it kill him so it was right at the same time

    1. Mauricio, Could not Rainsford simply have gone to get help? Could not a court of law provide justice? What would you do?

  5. I think that what homer ment by that is ravage is mostly when u get someone back for doing something bad. Like rainford kills general zorof for all the people he kills it was what rainford thought general zorof deserve.

    1. Yes I wood because I know he done bad things in the past.

  6. My opinion is that Rainsford did want to kill General Zaroff for killing all the people and also so he won't harm other people.

  7. If I was rains ford If would at lest find help and get off the island. Even though Zaroff tried to kill him I think rainsford did a good thing to stop a killer.

  8. I think it was wrong because the general never did anything to the Rainsford and Rainsford should of been the bigger person.it also makes Rainsford like the general because instead of leaving the general he didn't

    1. According to the law, your act would be murder. You may be found guilty and sentenced to jail. Would you pay this price?

    2. Well if I had the right evenness the cold find that it was self defends and not find me guilty

      Delete
    3. It won't be easy to get the evenness but you got to before you kill someone

  10. He had to kill the general because the general would have kept killing in ascent people. But at the same time I also think it would be better to make him suffer for the rest of his life.

    1. Out of curiosity....what would you do in this situation?

    2. I would touter him and then lock him up for the rest of his life in a federal prison and make sure everyone knows why he is there.

  11. It was right to kill General Zaroff because he put Rainsford threw all that so he did right to kill Zaroff

    1. So you are saying that we, as citizens, should take the law into our own hands?

      Delete
    2. Yes I say people should take the law in there own hands because the law is not always right

  12. I think rainsford was right killing the general because if he did not kill him he would of kept on killing more people

    1. He committed murder and Rainsford did the same thing. Are they now the same?

  13. I think that rainsford killed the general because he killed people and he wanted to get revenge on the general

    1. So we should all take justice into our own hands. Why do we need a legal system?

  14. So I personally believe it was okay, that Rainsford killed the General because I believe the General deserved it, and by me saying this, it doesn't mean that Rainsford enjoyed the hunt. It means that he took care of business, by taking out the man who killed more than one man. I think if he did not kill whim, then there would be more people dying everyday on that island.

    1. But now rainsford is a murderer.

    2. Why did he seem to enjoy the kill? He slept very well that night. What does this say about him?

      Delete
    3. Yea, but its not like he actually enjoyed it the way the general did. He just did it so the general could stop killing people.

      Delete
    4. It is saying that he knows he stopped the real murderer from what he was doing.

      Delete
    5. I think maybe he felt satisfied because he was happy that general Zaroff could not kill anyone else.

  15. I believe that it was revenge but he deserved it also Rainsford most likely he enjoin it but it had to be done.

  16. I think that Rainsford did the right thing by killing general Zaroff because if he did not kill general Zaroff he would have killed more humans so Rainsford did the right thing.

  17. I think it was alright to kill Zaroff because if he didn't he would be dead and other will to.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I thank that it was necessary but also it wasn't because he could have gotten help or something. Ya he had pleasure in the kill and seeped good but in a way it had to be done. It had to be done because of all the other people that would have came to the island.

  19. I think that is was okay that the Rainsford killed the general because the general had already killed so many people it was kind of like the death penalty for the general

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Is not the death penalty given as a punishment - only when a group of people (a jury) find someone guilty? Could this work in today's society?

    2. I think it could work in today's society

    1. Zaroff did not have a weapon. Do we know for sure that Zaroff would have killed Rainsford? In today's society if you kill someone it is murder. Is this not true?

      Delete
  21. I think it was ok to kill general Zaroff because if I was in rainsford position I probably would have done the same thing and if this was for real we would have gotten into jail or say for self defense

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think that Rainsford isn't a murder because he killed a murder and the general was the murder so I think Rainsford did the right thing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. But he would of found away to kill rainsford

    ReplyDelete

    1. At the time the general did not have any weapons.

  24. To me I feel that Rainsford did not do the right thing by killing him for Revenge. There was a lot more options besides doing that to the general. If I was him I probably would have locked him up and got help. But I would have also torchered him.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Should we do this in today's society?

      Delete
    2. Torchered sounds kinda harsh if u ask me but I think i would have done the same thing instead of dieing

      Delete
  25. I think it was right because the general could have easily escaped jail with his fortune, his intelligence, and strength.

    1. So...if you have the opportunity to kill a murderer, knowing that if you did not he would get away with the crime...then you would kill them?

  26. I think general was going to kill Rainsford after he did a lot of hunting for him, so it was necessary for Rainsford to murder him
