Posthumous Pardon:

Read the following article titled "Alabama Parole Board Approves Posthumous Pardons for Scottsboro Boys" and blog your response.  What do you think about the pardon granted?  Is this enough to make amends for what occurred in 1931? What statement is Alabama attempting to make through this gesture?

  1. I think it is already late it's been 81 years until Alabama dicied to say "sorry we were wrong about the Scottsboro case" why do they all of a sudden say that when years already passed.

  2. It took over eighty years for Alabama to acknowledge the injustice associated with the Scottsboro Case. Is this the first step necessary to create "true" change in this region? Does this make a blatant example of racism less horrific? Is this the first step in creating a new culture in the South?

  3. I think it is a little to late to be saying there done will all that racial stuff everyone else's is over it all ready and most people are not rasit anymore. I think they should show with actions what there trying to say not just say it.

  10. I think that this wasn't enough, I don't think the state of Alabama should be able to even have a justice system

  19. I think that it is a positive thing Alabama did. By saying that them boys were not guilty 82 years later is not helpful for them but it's better late then never.
