  4. The Trojan war started because Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, told Paris that he could have the "fairest" women of them all, Helen. She knew that she was already married to Menelaus, the King of Sparta. Thus, the was started over Paris capturing Helen and Menelaus getting mad and swearing that he will kill Paris.
