Romeo and Juliet: Interesting Fact about Elizabethan Era

Romeo and Juliet:
The Elizabethan era was very different than today's society. In order to examine this historical time, you will research this era more closely.
Search, document on your MWDS (historical), and then post your findings on this blog.  Work with your partner to determine what facts you would like share with your classmates.  
What have you discovered about the way people lived during this time frame.  Please post your findings.  Remember that language is a tool to express yourself; please use appropriate language.

  2. During the Elizabeth era the upper class was good material. On the other class wore basic material. Back then hunting was not just for food , they also thought of it as a sport. Fashion served as a mode for self - expression for all social classes.

  8. The Elizabethan era consisted of crimes,religion,and torture. Also there was village life. Those who lived in villages would not walk far to go to nearby towns and markets. The reason why Is because the villages already have these requirements. The life of the Elizabethan era was very calm and people depend on others in their comunity

  10. During the Elizabethan era,upper and lower class are very different but sometimes they are the same. lIke they watch Shakespeare at the theater.the only part that is different is the lower class had to stand up to watch the show.the upper class gets to sit down and enjoy the show

  11. I found out that they did not live a healthy life style. They rarely took showers and did not eat often. They only lived up to their thirties because of bad health. They only took showers once or twice a month. People that took showers often were considered whores. When people would use the restroom, they would throw their poop and pee out the window. People would often have others poop and pee all over them.

    2. People married at young ages because they did not live very long. People rarely took showers and there was no plumbing so people went in pots, and threw it out the window. People had to wear wigs because they had lice. The poor and the rich were very different yet they all went to the theater to watch plays. There were no women actors. The women had to have white skin and red lips. Women even had to wear wigs too. People listened to opera music and bread and cheese was most common for people to eat. The water was not clean so people drank wine and beer.

Elizabethan sports were archery,bowling, dice hammer, throwing quarter,and wrestling.elizabethan food were prepared for nobility. English 1574 sumptuary laws were will known by all English people.

Around this time music was a big part of entertainment. The way they dressed is entirely different from the way we dress today. They also wore wigs most of the time and lots of powder and makeup. Women were not aloud to be actors. Don't ask me I don't no why. And the men always bathed first. And the men and women's discription of beauty is a paleface red cheeks and red lips. C;

The subjects range from the type of clothing regarded as Upper Class Fashion - rich, sumptuous materials and elegant styles to clothes worn by the lower classes using basic materials. Each item of Elizabethan clothing has been designed. Elizabethan Women's Clothing - gowns, hats, corsets, underwear, collars, ruffs and shoes. Elizabethan Men's Clothing - doublets, breeches, underwear, collars, ruffs, hats and shoes.

Sir Francis Drake was famous for fighting the Spanish and helped to defeat the Spanish Armada.
