  14. Queen Elizabeth was queen of England for 44 years. She accomplished many things such as defeating the Spanish Armada. She was born on September 7 1533 and is the only surviving child of Anne Boleyn. She was named after her grandmother, Elizabeth of York. Her father was disappointed when he found out his newborn child was a girl he thought he would have a boy. Elizabeth hardly ever got to see her mother and when she was three her mother was executed for adultery. She was educated by the best teachers of their time. In 1533 Maty and Elizabeth both succeeded the throne but soon after Elizabeth disliked her sister because she had made Elizabeth look like the Protestant Alternative. Mary sent Elizabeth away for two months then released her. And after Mary died Elizabeth peacefully took the throne. She reformed churches with a partner named William Cecil. Her religion was Protestant.People wanted her because they thought she wasn't capable of war. She used her unmarried status to he advantage. she didn't want to marry because she equated Marriage to death because of what her father did to her mother. The last 15 years of Elizabeth's reign was her hardest she lost her most trusted advisors. In her later years is when William Shakespeare came and she supported him. Her last parliament was in 1601. She later died March 24th 1603. She was never married and had no children so her cousin James VI son of her cousin Mary Stuart, took the throne.

Elizabeth was never married but fell in love a couple of times. The reason she was never married was because she was scared that she will be betrayd just like her mom.
