While
most of us cannot imagine getting married in our early teens like Romeo
and Juliet, one of the most enjoyable aspects of this play is its
beautiful portrayal of romance, love, and marriage. With
that as your inspiration, post an excerpt from the text, that you find
exceptionally beautiful and or romantic. In addition, interpret what
your posted text means
"But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun! Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief." (Act 2, scene 2) Romeo is telling Juliet that she is beautiful.

Delete"Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joy
ReplyDeleteBe heap'd like mine, and that thy skill be more(25)(entotes)". It means that Juliet brings joy just like Romeo so they are meant to be.(Jessica and Daniel)

ReplyDelete" If profane with my unworthiest hand
This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand(100)
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss. " (98 . act 1 scene 5 ) .
I chose this quote because Romeo is sweet talking Juliet , because he wants to kiss her .
Francisco&&Christian... Line 55 I take at thy word Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized Henceforth I never will be Romeo.... We think this quote means a lot because this is when Juliet started to love Romeo...
ReplyDelete"Or if thou wilt, swear by thy gracious self,
ReplyDeleteWhich is the god of my idolatry,
And I'll believe thee" (Act II, Scene I, 123-5).
I selected this excerpt because Juliet is showing that Romeo is everything she believes in. She states that she worships him. He is her religion.
Delete"To a serving men what lady's that, which doth enrich the had of younder knight. "( act 5 seen 1).
ReplyDeleteWe selected this quote because when Romeo first saw Juliet he thought she was beautiful and said she makes every man she dances with look good.

She speaks.
ReplyDeleteO, speak again, bright angel! for thou art
As glorious to this night, being o'er my head,
As is a winged messenger of heaven(30)
Unto the white-upturned wond'ring eyes
Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him
When he bestrides the lazy-pacing clouds
And sails upon the bosom of the air. Number (34) I chose this quote because I like the way he speaks to juliet and his smooth lines.
"A thousand times good night" line (162)". Why did I choose this line because Juliet can not say goodnight and probley did not want Romeo to leave
ReplyDelete"But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
ReplyDeleteIt is the East, and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief(5)
That thou her maid art far more fair than she." I thought this part was really romantic because he's calling her the sun because she is his sun, like she makes his day bright.
Aback, there lies more peril in thine eye than twenty of their swords!"
ReplyDeleteHe says her eyes are beautiful

To have a sexual liaison with the moody night.
His love is blind and it suits the dark best"
Act 2 scene 1
The reason why I picked this quote is because they were aloud to do anything because they don't know when they can die or not so there parents let them do mostly anything. By Narendya Bailey leilani rivera

So basicly this meas they shérif explaining how hes feelingg at this moment Ande when he flirts saw her it was like love at fist siight
"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" so this quote to me means that romeo basicly is explaining how it was when he first saw Juliet And how he felt about her Romeo new that it was love at first siight when he first layed eyes on her he never saw any thing so perfict And beautiful in his life he was in love.

We Choose this quote because roman said that Juliet is the sun and that the moon is sick because of it and Romeo is showing that he truly loves Juliet

"I am too bold, 'tis not to me she speaks:Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven, Having some business, do entreat her eyes. To twinkle in their spheres till they return." To me this means that her eyes are as beautiful as the stars at night. I think that this is a romantic quote because no other man really stares at the eyes of a women and compares it to something as beautiful as the stars itself.
ReplyDeleteO, speak again, bright angel! for you are
ReplyDeleteAs glorious to this night
He is saying that she is more beautiful than the stars.
" My only love, sprung from my only hate!" Act 1 Scene 5 Juliet loves Romeo even though he is a Montague. Stephanie Cruz& Justin Vargas
